The Foundation’s intent is to encourage and assist organizations aiding women, children, elderly, the arts, and animals in Carmel Valley and regionally, as reflected by the current membership, as well as organizations that promote the safety, and general and civic welfare of our community. The Foundation will solicit nominations of eligible nonprofit organizations from its membership and that of the Carmel Valley Women’s Club (CVWC) during the year.
Any member wishing to submit a name of an organization should do so no later than April 1 for that year’s June distribution.
The appointed Community Allocations Committee (CAC) will review these requests and any written applications, confirm their eligibility, and rank them on the above policy by May 1.
By May 1 the CAC will submit a slate of nominated organizations to the Foundation Board for their approval with the respective nonprofit tax ID’s.
Following the spring fundraiser, the Treasurer of the Foundation will recommend a portion of the net fundraising proceeds and other donations available for charitable giving.
The Foundation Board shall review the nominees and vote to give contributions based on the Committee’s recommendation.
The final list of recipient organizations will be posted in the May Newsletter.
Award letters will be sent to chosen organizations with an invitation for a representative to be the guest of CVWC at the June lunch meeting when they will receive their checks. Any organization may bring materials to put on a display table. (Additional guests of the organization will be responsible for the cost of their lunch).

CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY: Any board member or officer of the Foundation who also serves on the board or is an officer of a proposed recipient organization must identify such a relationship and abstain from voting for that particular organization.
