This year, the CVWC Foundation Board allocated $10,100 to the Community Grant Committee to award to various not-for-profit or-ganizations.
The Committee, (Judy Proud, Nikki Kilzer, Deecie Dennison, Whiz Lindsey and committee chair Carol Baker-Raj) had a total of 23 applications to review. All of the organizations that applied were great and it’s difficult to narrow down the list. We focused on organizations that have an impact on Carmel Valley and that benefit women, the elderly and children.
One of the organizations receiing a grant again this year is Hope, Horses and Kids. This organization helps all children, especially those with special needs, build confidence and reach personal developmental milestones. It is through the magic of caring for, guiding and riding horses that the kids can realize their successes. When Executive Director Lori Tuttle, received the good news, she responded, “That is great! We are
growing so quickly! We just saw two new families with disadvantaged children. One family is from Carmel Valley. Your funds will be put to good use.”
We are proud to support all these organizations. Your contributions are greatly appreci-ated. Since it’s formation in 2013, the Allocations Committee has donated $34,000 for charity.
This year, the donations go to:
Carmel Valley Angel Project
Carmel Valley Community Center
Carmel Valley Historical Society
Comm. Partnership for Youth
Friends of Cachagua Children’s Center
